Bryan Schmitt caught some nice largemouths on day 3 of the Lake Champlain Bassmaster Elite Series, but thinks he ll need the cooperation of smallmouths on the final day.

To hear Bryan Schmitt talk there isn’t a single bass left in Lake Champlain. They’re all gone. Just vanished.
But don’t buy any of it for a second.
The perennially pessimistic Maryland pro caught another big limit Saturday – this time five bass that weighed 19-04 – to increase his three-day total to 62-04 and maintain his lead at the Bassmaster Elite Series event out of Plattsburgh, N.Y. ....

Caleb Kuphall s 23-09 stringer on day 3 added 7 pounds to his lead at the Lake Guntersville Bassmaster Elite Series.

Knowing when to shift gears rewarded Caleb Kuphall with a five-bass limit of 23-09, which helped him extend his lead at the Lake Guntersville Bassmaster Elite Series with a three-day total weight of 66-13.
Holding the top spot since Day 1, the pro from Mukwonago, Wis., set the pace with a first-round limit of 27-10 – the tournament’s biggest bag – and followed with 15-10. After the first two days found Kuphall with leads of 6-07 and 4-09, he ll enter the final day 11 1/2 pounds ahead of Alabama pro Wes Logan. ....

Wes Logan t 16-15 stringer on day 3 tied for the heaviest bag thus far at the Neely Henry Lake Bassmaster Elite Series.

Wes Logan grew up fishing this 11,200-acre Coosa River fishery, so it’s no surprise his intimate knowledge of the lake helped him climb to the top of the leaderboard on day 3 of the Neely Henry Lake Bassmaster Elite Series.
But with the Neely Henry bass still adjusting to extremely heavy rains last week, Logan admits he’ll have to lean on every bit of his experience if he’s to win his first B.A.S.S tournament Monday. ....
