Schmitt Still Up By 2-Plus With 1 Day Left Saturday, July 10, 2021 Photo: B.A.S.S./Seigo Saito Bryan Schmitt caught some nice largemouths on day 3 of the Lake Champlain Bassmaster Elite Series, but thinks he ll need the cooperation of smallmouths on the final day. By B.A.S.S. Communications Staff To hear Bryan Schmitt talk there isn’t a single bass left in Lake Champlain. They’re all gone. Just vanished. But don’t buy any of it for a second. The perennially pessimistic Maryland pro caught another big limit Saturday – this time five bass that weighed 19-04 – to increase his three-day total to 62-04 and maintain his lead at the Bassmaster Elite Series event out of Plattsburgh, N.Y.

By B.A.S.S. Communications Staff Wes Logan grew up fishing this 11,200-acre Coosa River fishery, so it’s no surprise his intimate knowledge of the lake helped him climb to the top of the leaderboard on day 3 of the Neely Henry Lake Bassmaster Elite Series. But with the Neely Henry bass still adjusting to extremely heavy rains last week, Logan admits he’ll have to lean on every bit of his experience if he’s to win his first B.A.S.S tournament Monday.

Christie Holds Onto Lead At Sabine

Christie Holds Onto Lead At Sabine Saturday, April 10, 2021 Photo: B.A.S.S./Seigo Saito Despite a light bag on day 3, Jason Christie remained atop the leaderboard at the Sabine River Bassmaster Elite Series. By B.A.S.S. Communications Staff Jason Christie had more gas than he needed and more water than he wanted, but the Oklahoma angler’s three-day total of 35-11 allowed him to maintain his lead on day 3 of the Sabine River Bassmaster Elite Series in Orange, Texas. Christie was 2nd on day 1 with 15-01 and took over the top spot Friday by adding 13-14. On Saturday, the Sabine was in a stingier mood and Christie found only a small limit of 6-12. He holds a 15-ounce lead over day-1 leader Brock Mosley.
