It s late at night. You ve had a long day. Your one year old is finally asleep, you might grab a few hours before heading to work in the morning. Before you can even wrap your head around shutting down for the night, you hear the awful sounds of your baby choking and struggling to breathe. Last Monday a dad called 9-1-1 to report that his one year old daughter was not breathing. Marlboro cops responded immediately, arriving within minutes to the home.
After a few minutes of administering CPR, the little girl began to breathe and color retired to her face. Thanks to the quick action, training and calm in the face of crisis, a little girl is OK and a father can breathe easy knowing that in the moment of crisis, there were officers in uniform ready, willing and able to help.
MARLBORO - Police Chief Peter Pezzullo is praising his officers and the local first aid squad after they saved the life of a one-year-old child in the township on Monday.
The incident took place about 11:15 p.m. when police received a frantic 911 call from a township resident who said his baby daughter was choking and could not breathe, police Capt. Steve Levy said in a statement on Thursday night.
Officers from the Marlboro Police Department and medics from the Marlboro Township First Aid Squad were on scene in minutes, Levey said.
“They evaluated the girl and realized she was unresponsive, gasping for air and turning blue,” Levy said. “Immediately, they started to perform CPR.”

MARLBORO – On April 26 at 11:15 p.m., the Marlboro Police Department received a 911 call from a resident who reported his 1-year-old daughter was choking and not breathing.
Officers from the Marlboro Police Department and members of the Marlboro First Aid Squad arrived on scene within minutes, according to a press release from the police department.
The first responders evaluated the girl and determined she was unresponsive, gasping for air and turning blue. They immediately started to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the child.
After a few minutes, the girl began to cry and her normal color started to return. She was transported to a local hospital by the Marlboro First Aid Squad for further evaluation, according to the press release.
