Kelly Slater is probably the most famous surfer ever and was awarded the title of “The Greatest Surfer of all Time”.
Slater was born in Cocoa Beach, Floridain 1972. He started surfing when he was only 5 years old and by the time he was ten he was already winning almost any competition he entered. His talent became apparent to the world when he won his first world title at the age of 20, making him the youngest surfing world champion ever. He went on to win 11 world championships so far and his last win in 2011, at the age of 39, also made him the oldest surfing world champion.

The 2020 Olympics in Tokyo were supposed to mark the entry of surfing into the most established sports competition in the world.
Many surf fans were excited to see their favourite athletes in action on screens all around the globe since it was considered to be included in the 2020 Summer Olympics back in 2015. A year later, the unanimous vote of the Committee opened the doors for the worlds best surfers to come and show their sport to millions of spectators. Among the newly included sports were also baseball, softball, karate, skating and climbing.
