two jobs, his wife a home care worker and he ended up homeless. absolutely. and that s a lot of the workers in our movement, we first started, we have workers who are working 40 to 60 hours a week sleeping in cars, sleeping in parks, standing homeless shelters. americans are paying about $7 billion a year, just to subsidize workers who work in the fast food industry because these companies aren t paying them enough money. it is the same thing in airports. four decades ago, you had an airport job, you worked for the airport, had a pension, guarantee raises, great raises, you know, job security, now you work for an airport, it is like a fast food job. you re homeless sleeping in a park with your children. i don t think that s the type of country we want to live in. i talked to a lot of the airport workers and i think sciu, it is amazing what they have to deal with and then they don t have the wherewithal to live. well, thank you for joining us.
