More guns were taken off the streets this weekend.The Birmingham Police Department teamed up with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated and hosted a Spring Gun Buyback event yesterday.The event, held at First Ebenezer Baptist Church Fellowship House on Graymont Avenue, allowed people to turn in a gun with no questions asked.The event organizer tells WVTM 13 News that 14 long guns and 24 pistols were collected, for a total of 38 guns.Those who turn in a firearm received a Walmart gift card. ....

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Officials with the city of Birmingham and the Birmingham Police Department released guidance Friday on how to navigate traffic during this weekendâs Magic City Classic.
The plan includes a few blocked roads and flow patterns to help fans and residents get around before, during, and after the game.
The 79th Annual Magic City Classic between Alabama A&M and Alabama State University kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at Legion Field. The game will also be televised on ESPNU. ....
