Kirkby Lonsdale's artist group hold face-to-face wellbeing workshops

FREE face-face wellbeing sessions will be on off from the Kirkby Lonsdale Phoenix Rising Art group.
Having started on May 10, the Community Interest Company will be delivering their second week of free art and wellbeing workshops to Lune Valley residents, in collaboration with Melling arts organisation Green Close.
ARTIST: Danielle Chappell-Aspinwall, artist leading Kirkby Towntastic making and drawing workshops (face-to-face)
Held both online and in person, the workshops offer opportunities for those who need the time and space to recharge and adjust to the new normal as lockdown restrictions continue to ease.
The online programme started two weeks ago over Zoom with Gratitude Gallery, a smartphone photography workshop led by artist Ginni Koppenhol. ....

KUNYUNG Primary School students have put on an art display to show their gratitude to the “wonderful frontline workers” at Frankston Hospital.
Art teacher Arlene Drummond had earlier invited the “hospital heroes” from the emergency department, ICU and the COVID ward to send in head-and-shoulders photos of themselves. Grade 1-2 students then discussed how artists can express their feelings and ideas through their art. ....

Free art and wellbeing workshops launch in Kirkby Lonsdale
Free art and wellbeing taster workshops will be held in Kirkby Lonsdale this week.
Kirkby Lonsdale Community Interest Company isÂ working with Melling visual arts organisation Green Close to launch the workshops as part of a new programme called Phoenix Rising.
The Phoenix Rising programme is one of only 37 organisations nationally to have received a Thriving Communities grant from the National Academy for Social Prescribing, Arts Council England, Natural England and Historic England.
The initiative will give locals the opportunity to socialise and recharge in a safe creative space as lockdown restrictions ease. ....
