After approval from the Graham City Council this week, the city will have a four-month trial run for a new compressed work schedule for various city departments. The departments impacted by the change will be city hall, municipal court, the Library of Graham and the administrative offices of Graham Fire Department and Graham Police Department. A community effort is underway to add a mural and other features outside Graham City Hall. The mural design is an enlarged art piece by artist Rebbeca Guy, of Dallas, which captures area landmarks during the mid-2000s. Graham residents Muriel Stephens and Lydia Schupbach were part of a festival in the early 2000s called Art Splash which brought in artwork from across the nation. Every year, the organizers of the event would select an artist of the year and would commission a painting. ....
