YORKTOWN Philip Evans “Phil” Carter Jr., 66, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021, at his family’s home, surrounded by his sons and his beloved sister-in-law, Sue.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Evans Carter Sr. and Helen Jones Carter.
He is survived by sons, Evan Carter and Ryan Carter; former wife, Linda Gandee; current partner, Crystal Clarke; siblings, Mary Griffith, Susan Carter, Christy Haddock, Jeff Carter (Cindy) and Carolyn Carter Morgan; many nieces and nephews, former in-laws, cousins and countless dear friends.
Phil had a love of life and understood what was important the simplicity of life and making every minute count. He would say, “I’ve lived a good life,” and nothing was truer.

Each class costs $40 for residents and costs $65 for non-residents, who are also subject to a $25 registration fee.
“Safety rules are in place, including smaller class size and social distancing,” according to the county department’s Facebook post. “Check out all they have to offer and register today!”
Participants can choose from multiple classes including strength training, yoga and zumba. The instructional fitness classes start as early as Jan. 11 and last through at least March 22. See full list of classes and their corresponding program times here.
