New Group of Ohioans Eligible to Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

By Scott Jennings Photo credit: Getty Images COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) Governor Mike DeWine Monday announced the next group of Ohioans eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccine. Beginning Thursday, Phase 1-D of his vaccination plan will begin. It allows those with type-2 diabetes and end-stage renal failure to receive a vaccine. Also on Thursday, Phase 2-B allows Ohioans age 50 and older to receive a vaccine. Around 1.2 million Ohioans fall in the 50 to 59 age range. The latest information from the Ohio Department of Health shows close to 2 million Ohioans have their first of two shots, which is a little over 17 percent of the state s population.

Birck, of New Richmond, will assume office on Dec. 29 and will be replacing Judge Kathleen Rodenberg. Birck was an Assistant Clermont County Prosecuting Attorney since 1995. She represented the county and its elected officials in a wide variety of matters, including litigation and personnel.
