Grantham Lions share £900 donation between good causes

Grantham Lions Club has shared a Â£900 donation between four separate local charity organisations and good causes.
Grantham and Rural Areas Community Effort (GRACE), Grantham Rescue 0f Cats and Kittens (ROCK), Rainbow Childrenâs Hospice in Loughborough and C & L Animal Tracks have all benefited from the donation, after what has been a very difficult year for many of the smaller charities and organisations.
Lions president Godfrey Mackinder said: âWe have not being able to hold meetings for nearly a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but members have found other ways to support the community.â

Grantham Lions' Santa tour raises more than £6,000 for good causes

The Grantham Lions Club has been touring the streets with Santa and his sleigh throughout December to raise funds for local good causes.
However, they were forced to abandon the tour early on Thursday, December 17, when youths started throwing stones at Santa while the sleigh was making its way down Goodliff Road.
Grantham Lions will be touring Barrowby tonight. (43610072)
A Lions spokesperson said: âA few spoilt it for the many. Some of the stones hit Santaâs leg but, fortunately, he wasnât injured.â
Despite the incident, Godfrey Mackinder, president of the club, is delighted with the generosity shown by the community. ....
