Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will transform the city s 20 highest crash-prone intersections, also known as black spots to make Mumbai traffic junctions safer for the public, said officials on Thursday.
A black spot is a 500m stretch where five serious road crashes are reported within three years, or any spot where 10 accident-related deaths are reported within the period.
The civic engineers are working along with partners from the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS) to transform these junctions.
