EXACTLY a year after it was announced that Glenroe school was going to reopen one might think head teacher Julie O’Connor would regret taking the position after all the trials and tribulations of Covid.
But not a bit of it.
“Rewards are plenty, establishing a rapport with pupils and parents, building relationships with the community and management from Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board (LCETB) has been a wonderful experience.
“Inviting parents to establish a parents council has been a very exciting opportunity as they are the prime educators and I welcome their expertise, diverse skills and talents. I am delighted to work with them to enhance the experience of Glenroe Community National School for all our pupils,” said Ms O’Connor.

Refurbishment of County Limerick national school get go-ahead By Live95 News Team Approval has been granted to refurbish the main building at Glenroe Community National School.
The works have been given the go-ahead by the Department of Education and will get underway shortly.
Glenroe CNS opened last September with Julie O’Connor appointed as Head Teacher in June.
It s the first Community National School in Limerick and joins a growing network of such schools throughout Ireland.
Commenting on the approval, George O’Callaghan, Chief Executive of Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, said: “The process has commenced whereby a design team appointed by the ETB will draw up plans to refurbish the existing building, appoint a contractor and manage the construction project over the coming months to provide state-of-the-art facilities for the pupils in the school.”
