Approval has been granted to refurbish the main building at Glenroe Community National School.
The works have been given the go-ahead by the Department of Education and will get underway shortly.
Glenroe CNS opened last September with Julie O’Connor appointed as Head Teacher in June.
It's the first Community National School in Limerick and joins a growing network of such schools throughout Ireland.
Commenting on the approval, George O’Callaghan, Chief Executive of Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, said: “The process has commenced whereby a design team appointed by the ETB will draw up plans to refurbish the existing building, appoint a contractor and manage the construction project over the coming months to provide state-of-the-art facilities for the pupils in the school.”
