Pre-COVID-19, Amadeus and Sweetsmith Bakery owners Diana Ramallo and daughter Alena Stewart signed a lease on a Masonry Grill-adjacent space, across the Durbin s Alley from the bakery. Demolition had begun for a custom buildout of their third business, an artsy, tequila-focused bar. We were into it, Stewart said, but then amidst coronavirus precautions the project paused. Nothing happened for a couple weeks. They were able to resume renovations during the spring and summer months while navigating the phased reopening of their other businesses.
