Mother-daughter duo Diana Ramallo and Alena Stewart open a new bar, the Alleycat Bar, on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020 in downtown Salem, Oregon. The pair also own Amadeus and Sweetsmith.
We've all had a weird year, but Alleycat Bar has had perhaps the weirdest year of any Salem business.
Pre-COVID-19, Amadeus and Sweetsmith Bakery owners Diana Ramallo and daughter Alena Stewart signed a lease on a Masonry Grill-adjacent space, across the Durbin's Alley from the bakery. Demolition had begun for a custom buildout of their third business, an artsy, tequila-focused bar.
