Photo by: Shutterstock Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy D. Sini has announced the indictment of a West Babylon man for leaving the scene of a fatal crash with a pedestrian in Amagansett.
Mark Corrado, 28, of West Babylon, is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Incident Without Reporting Resulting in Death, a class D Felony, and Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class E Felony.
“This was a horrible tragedy that has left two young children without their mother,” District Attorney Sini said. “In addition to allegedly fleeing the scene, the driver took even further steps to avoid being identified and taking responsibility for his actions. We will seek to hold him accountable and obtain justice for the victim and her family.” ....

(Shutterstock) AMAGANSETT, NY A mother pushing her two children in a stroller in Amagansett Wednesday morning was struck by a driver who sped away, police said. The mother was identified as Yuris Murillo Cruz, 36, of Amagansett. Her children, ages 1 and 4, were airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital. Police said their injuries are not considered life-threatening. Police said the driver, Mark A. Corrado Jr., 28, of West Babylon, was arrested. He was driving a 1997 Dodge pickup truck at 11:42 a.m. when he crashed into Cruz on the eastbound shoulder of the Montauk Highway east of the Old Montauk Highway. ....
