Good morning to you and your family. It is september 11th, 2016. Youre watching a special edition of fox friends. Today marks 15 years since the 9 11 attacks here in new york city, also in washington, d. C. , and shanksville, pennsylvania. Nearly 3,000 americans died on that day. STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. An annual blood drive will be held Saturday in Tottenville in memory of John G. Chipura, an FDNY firefighter who lost his life responding to the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Chipura also served as a U.S. Marine and a city police officer. He started his life of community service as an Eagle Scout.
An annual blood drive is the perfect way to honor him, said his brother, Gerard Chipura, of Tottenville.
