drifting through the bay area right now. more is coming. let s check in with lisa argen and live doppler 7. we re in between systems now. lot of moisture still out there. we re seeing mist, drizzle, light showers scattered around the bay area. in the north bay by clear lake and upper lake, we have some showers. down along san rafael 101, scattered showers in the city. los gatos, highway 17. just three miles of visibility in concord and santa rosa. southerly winds up to 28 miles an hour. we saw highs today of 70 in san jose. our next system is a 1 on our storm impact scale. we ll be timing it out for you tonight when the showers become a little more numerous as we head towards the morning commute. as we go through the 9:00 hour, some pretty good downpours from the north bay, spreading south through san francisco. we ll talk about the timing for the rest of the day, the weekend and the stronger system headed our way early next week. dan? lisa, thank you very much. our ....
sandhya. we welcome another storm. you ll notice that there s no signs of it. there is to the north and the west. as you take a look here, there is a cold storm brewing. it is heading down towards the bay area. certainly will be bringing some much colder air. so while the rain is just approaching the north coast, expected to get here eventually. it is churning up the swells there. high surf warning begins at 10:00 p.m. tonight and runs until 4:00 friday. westerly swells 18 to 22 feet. strongest storm of the season could bring deadly rip current. it s a level one storm. light storm for thursday, friday. quarter to half an inch. breezy at times and watch ut for the dangerous surf. here s the hour by hour preview. 11:00 tonight, rain is still to the north. we head to 5:00 a.m., showers in the north bay and by 7:00 a.m., we see a few drops beginning across san francisco. heading into 8:00 a.m., than shifts the start of an interesting storm. you ll want to stay tuned to fi ....
short government shutdown, now over. democrats say they were able to reach a deal with a pledge that republicans will work with them on immigration. the motion is adopted. reporter: day three of the government shutdown proved to be the last, for now. to do any victory laps for any one side would be inappropriate. we ve got a lot of work ahead. reporter: lawmakers in the house and senate passing a temporary fix to fund the government for another three weeks. the president placed blame on the far left. but democrats led by senator chuck schumer say trump refused to negotiate. the great deal-making president sat on the sidelines. reporter: the white house claimed trump was behind the new bill. lawmakers said bipartisan debate got it done. we want to negotiate and get to a place, and we re hopeful we can do that the next couple of weeks. reporter: success will hinge on the major sticking point for the democrats, the fate of d.r.e.a.m.ers. the more than 800,0 ....

i keep going back to being a native californian, i have never heard in one day so many ebss, emergency broadcast systems, where your programming was interrupted or you re listening to the radio. that lovely tone. yeah. beep, beep. it s important. it is, it is. you kind of wish they would say flash flood warning for the entire bay area but the national weather service which is in monterey actually they have all these different rain gauges. i think we lost something on the desk. something on our desk fell.
