Edwards County 4-H officials say Edwards County Farm Bureau Manager Rebecca Perry will be honored as an inductee for the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame this year. Perry was an 11-year member of the Caledonia Clovers in Boone County, receiving many awards and recognitions, before relocating to Edwards County in her current role. The Annual Meeting of the Wayne-White Electric Cooperative will take place this Friday in the Wayne City High School Gymnasium. This will be the first indoor annual meeting since 2019, and the meeting is open to all "members" of the cooperative, who are asked to bring their membership registration card with them. Cards are attached to the annual meeting booklet each member received in the mail. Although the cooperative now provides billing and maintenance services for residents of the City of Fairfield, those residents are not technically members of the co-op and are not eligible to attend the meeting. Gina would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, and reading to her heart's content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and she can eat what she wants. She left detailed instructions for her children to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Gina "Jenny" Spicer, 67, of Cisne passed away at 5:39PM on Monday October 4, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Festus MO.
