H bag mafias grievously injure 4 forest officials during raid | Ranchi News

Hazaribag: As many as four forest officials were grievously injured when a group of mafias, involved in timber trade and stone quarrying, attacked them in Gautam Buddha Wildlife Sanctuary while they, along with seven others, were conducting a raid on Tuesday night. “The four have been admitted at Hazaribag Medical College and Hospital (HMCH) and an FIR has been lodged against 10 unidentified persons and four identified ones based on a complaint filed by Anil Raman, the local forester which was leading the team of officials,” Barhi sub-divisional police officer Nazir Akhtar said. However, no arrests have been made yet. Raman and his team ventured into the sanctuary’s Dhanua-Buluwa forest range under Chauparan police station limits, located around 80km from Hazaribag town, to conduct a raid and stop the construction of a well. When Raman challenged the mafias, one of them, identified as Narayan Singh, attacked him and others with weapons.
