ScaleCo acquires Pittsburgh s PSP Metrics

Cleveland private equity firm ScaleCo Management announced the acquisition of PSP Metrics Inc., a Pittsburgh-based firm specializing in talent and organizational development and succession planning.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
PSP, founded in 1946, describes itself as a provider of employee measurement tools serving a wide variety of industries throughout the United States and in numerous countries worldwide. The company delivers assessments for customers in the utility, business services, homebuilding and manufacturing industries worldwide, according to ScaleCo.
Gary Williamson, a PSP co-owner since 2001, has been named CEO of PSP concurrent with the deal. Fellow co-owner Steve Guinn will stay with the company during the ownership transition. ....

Athens lost two men this month, eight days apart, who grew up in different directions from the city but became Athens community leaders for decades and forces in their chosen professions.
Friends and colleagues remember Melvin Bateman and Harold Smitson for their extraordinary gifts which they used for the betterment of the home they each adopted in the early 1970s.

Melvin Gray Bateman, Jr. was born in Texarkana, Texas on May 14, 1946 and died on Jan. 13 at age 74. He graduated from Texas High School in Texarkana in 1964 then headed west to Texas Tech University where he majored in political science. ....

Neil Swainson was born and raised in the province of British Columbia, moving to his home base of Toronto in the late ‘70s. Over his career he’s recorded on albums with George Shearing, Jay McShann and Woody Shaw and performed with Diana Krall, Nancy Wilson, Mel Torme, James Moody, Lee Konitz and many others. Initially released in 1988, the bassist’s only album as a leader, “49
th Parallel,” has now been made available again. It features a quintet with jazz legends Joe Henderson on tenor and trumpeter Woody Shaw, drummer Jerry Fuller and Gary Williamson on piano. ....
