there has been a rise in the prescription of anxiety medications and other sedative hypnotic needs. in 2014 and 15 in rhode island, 33% of those receiving opioid prescriptions were co-prescribed benzodiazapines. this is a tremendous, tremendous deadly combination and has been a significant variable in the increase in opioid overdose deaths in rhode island and the statistics show nationally. so along with fentanyl, we need to look at the co-prescription of benzodiazapine. other strategies for the prevention of initiation include but are not limited to patient education and the use and storage of medication, family education, continued public health education venues and peer recovery resources. treatment within a recovery oriented system of care individualized for the patient that is easily accessible can prevent the progression of the disease and the possibility of overdose. and i can skip here. i m quoting directly here from the rhode island governor s overdose prevent ....

that s extremely concerning to me. because those i know that i went to the first baptist church of jacksonville and i was asked to give my testimony there and a woman came up to me and said my son s in jail. will you go talk to him? he got out of jail. his mother i saw his mother lately, which was three years later, says he s never used it again because i knew from reading the big book, i knew how to talk to that person. holly: i ll agree with you, paul. we definitely need to use peers in everything we do. because they have the expertise and the survival skills, quite frankly. but for the tradition of the big book, we want to be respectful of that, and we also need to get people with this experience back to work. without violating the traditions. so recovery coaches are a way to do that. we are now working to get into hospitals to bring people who have lived experience into hospitals. give them work. give that hope. it s pretty great program. i would invite you to c ....

common core is on higher standards than those that existed in prior states. here s what i believe about common core. it should not be imposed by the federal government. there should be no requirements from the federal government on content curriculum or standards, directly or indirectly. [applause] mr. bush: someone is smoking in here. lighting up in the school. [laughter] how are you going to kill our country s debt by the time you are out of office? mr. bush: i don t know if i can kill the debt. if you are looking for that, you are not going to find it. i will be honest with you. $19 trillion of debt, you can reduce the deficit to the point where our economy is growing and our debt remains static, which means that ultimately we will be solvent. that will be the objective. you can do that in eight years if you are serious. what is interesting, this is my fifth town hall meeting in a row where a child, a young, smart person, has asked me this question, or their dad, o ....
