Michael “Poncho” Alan Velin, 81, of Superior, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation with family by his side. He was born on April 11, 1942, to Marcus and Elsie (Ukkola) Velin. He attended Nelson Dewey and Franklin Schools and graduated from East High School in 1960 where he participated in football and golf. After graduation he married Linda Johnson, and they raised four children in their East End Home.
While Kyham Dunn was ordered to serve approximately 3 1/2 years for his manslaughter conviction, Solomon Byrd Jr. failed to appear failed to appear for his hearing.
Kyham Lavon Dunn and Solomon Byrd Jr. were arrested after a woman was found dead in a downtown hotel room in September 2019, with a medical examiner citing fentanyl toxicity as the cause.
