Ice Wolves announce hiring of new assistant coach The La Ronge Ice Wolves have a new assistant coach and associative general manager. The team announced Monday morning they had hired Kyle Schneider. Schneider, who is from Prince Albert, was a member of the Ice Wolves in 2020. He also had stints with the Melfort Mustangs and Selkirk Steelers in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). Schneider replaces Gaelan Patterson, who moved on to take a position in British Columbia. “I am really excited to get the position with the La Ronge Ice Wolves and get to coach with an unreal coach like Kevin Kaminski, you know I really can’t thank him and the Ice Wolves organization enough for the opportunity,” he said. ....

Ice wolves announce departure of associate coach/general manager Gaelan Patterson is moving on from the La Ronge Ice Wolves. The team’s associate head coach/general manager is moving to Nanaimo British Columbia to be the director of hockey operations for the Nanaimo Minor Hockey Association. In a tweet from the Ice Wolves’ official Twitter account, the team said Patterson will continue to serve as a scout for the team, working on Vancouver Island. Patterson, who is from La Ronge, has been with the team since the 2018-19 season. Before moving into coaching, he played junior hockey in the Western Hockey League for the Saskatoon Blades and had an eight year career as a professional playing in Canada, the United States and Europe. ....
