Number of vaccines being given dwindling | News, Sports, Jobs

JOHNSTOWN The number of persons getting weekly COVID-19 vaccinations at Fulton-Montgomery Community College is subsiding, but county officials are encouraging more use of pharmacies.
Numbers of active COVID cases in Fulton County is also declining.
A COVID update was provided by county Health Director Laurel Headwell to the Board of Supervisors’ Human Services Committee recently at the County Office Building.
Headwell said that to date, Fulton County has had 17,565 people receiving one COVID vaccination; and 13,446 receiving their second shot.
“We are slowing down,” she said of the Thursday’s weekly vaccination POD, or Point of Delivery activity at FMCC. ....

Despite having the highest 7-day average COVID-19 positivity rate in the region, the lowest vaccination percentage of the six rural counties in the Mohawk Valley and a highly publicized virus outbreak at its county jail affecting more than 80 people the Fulton County Public Health Department still struggled to give away doses of the Moderna vaccine Thursday, leaving 60 doses unused.
“We’ve never had leftover vaccine,” Fulton County Director of Public Health Laurel Headwell said after the end of her department’s Point of Distribution [POD] vaccine clinic, held at Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Thursday. ....

JOHNSTOWN The Fulton County Health Department is alerting residents of a potential COVID-19 exposure at Aldi’s, 266 N Comrie Ave, Johnstown.
A department release said the potential exposure at the grocery store was on the following dates:
∫ Wednesday, April 7, between 6 a.m. 2 p.m. The quarantine end date is April 17.
∫ Thursday, April 8, between 6 a.m. 2 p.m. The quarantine end date is April 18.
∫ Friday, April 9, between 6 a.m. 2 p.m. The quarantine end date is April 19.
∫ Saturday, April 10, between 6 a.m. 2 p.m. The quarantine end date is April 20.
The release says if you have been affected by the COVID exposure, monitor yourself for symptoms up to 10 days after the time of exposure. Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or a runny nose, nausea, vomiting, an ....
