A new play Before You Go by Dundalk-based writer Laurence McKeown is the latest fruit from the From Oriel to Brexit project. Laurence is the brains behind the cross-border, cross-community artistic project, which incorporates music, theatre, creative writing, and photography. The idea behind the project was to allow those take part share their personal and communal histories within the context of topical contemporary issues. Rather than engage in set-piece discussions it utilises the arts to bring participants together in a shared, communal experience, he said. So far the project has involved a range of workshops across various age-groups, including a programme with transition students from Bush PP, Dundalk, facilitated by Mary Jordan on behalf of Kabosh, which resulted in e musical performances, a book of poetry/prose titled In My Own Write, filmed readings from the writings. ....
