Aklan to put cap on Boracay tourist arrivals

BORACAY TASK FORCE. The Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF) convenes on the island on Friday (April 29, 2022). In a press conference following the meeting, Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores said they will implement a cap on the number of tourist arrivals using the QR Code system to comply with the island's daily carrying capacity.(Photo courtesy of DENR Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group) ILOILO CITY - The provincial government of Aklan has denied breaching the daily threshold on the carrying capacity of Boracay Island during the Holy Week and assured that it will stick to the recommended 19,215 capacity at any given time.
