Town picked up their second clean sheet of the season as they drew 0-0 at Leicester s Walkers Stadium. Both teams had chances in a game in which young Irish keeper Shane Supple made his senior debut as a substitute after Lewis Price had succumbed to a first half knee injury.
Jim Magilton was one of two players sent off for violent conduct in the latter stages as the Blues lost the opening match of their pre-season tour of Hungary 3-2 to Újpest. Town were in front twice during the first half through a Darren Currie penalty and Dean Bowditch.
Town s pre-season campaign got off to a winning start as goals from Nicky Forster and two from Dean Bowditch defeated Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium. As promised the Blues fielded a different side in each half of the game, the home side rotating a huge number of players throughout.
