We begin this morning with developing news. Firefighters in redwood city are putting out hot spots from a smoky fire at a Metal Recycling plant. It started around 1 00 this morning at the Simms Metal Management plant near the port of redwood city. The fire is burning car parts, old appliances and other discarded items sending up a huge plume of smoke. There are no reports of injuries. Its not clear how the fire started.
