HICKORY HILLS, IL U.S. Rep. Marie Newman (IL-03) secured $640,000 in federal funding for Hickory Hills as part of this year s community project funding from the House Committee on Appropriations. Upon passage in Congress, the funding would be used to update 20,000 linear feet of sanitary sewers in a low-income section of the Hickory Hills, reducing basement backups and sanitary sewer overflows. In my five months serving in Washington, I have been proud to fight for infrastructure investments that will improve the quality of life of my constituents, said Congresswoman Marie Newman in a news release.
