Possible Government Shutdown today. You are a member of the Freedom Caucus. It says you struck a deal with leadership for your vote last night to approve this continuing resolution until february 16th. What was the deal . Basically, we just wanted to take care of the military. That was the strongest piece of it. I, as a veteran, feel like it is wrong for us to not give some certainty to the men and women in uniform. Many of the planes are not flying. We havent had the pay raises that we have been promising. Families are struggling. We are not getting the training we need. Thats a big element. One of the things we want is a vote on how to move forward on the daca question. So those are the things that we said, okay, this is not the way to run the government. We shouldnt be doing month to month funding of things but we are where we are. Lets see if we can work our way out ....
