The Amex KrisFlyer Credit Card is one of the cards officially co-branded with Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, making it super easy to use since miles you earn are credited directly to your KrisFlyer account. Though its base earn rates are far from spectacular, the Amex KrisFlyer Credit Card offers a pretty decent welcome bonus miles of up to 24,800 KrisFlyer miles.
One PPS Value per 10 KrisFlyer miles earned
There is no cap on the maximum status credits that can be earned, and these will count towards KrisFlyer Elite or PPS Club membership renewal that is due between March 2022 and February 2023, or to upgrade your existing membership status.
Existing KrisFlyer members will be able to move up to KrisFlyer Elite Silver/Gold, and existing PPS Club members will be able to move up to Solitaire PPS Club. However, no ‘crossing over’ is allowed for example, a KrisFlyer Elite Gold member can’t make the jump to PPS Club.
All status credits will be credited within seven working days of the qualifying transaction posting.
Transfers from other GrabPay users
Bank account top-ups via PayNow VPA or linked UOB accounts
In fact, there’s very little reason why you’d want to use a Visa credit card to top-up your GrabPay wallet anyway.
Visa’s reclassification of GrabPay top-ups as MCC 6051 (quasi cash transactions) in July 2020 effectively killed off the prospect of earning rewards, because virtually every bank considers this an exclusion category.
For example, it would make no sense at all to use your DBS Altitude Visa to top-up your GrabPay wallet and then pay with GrabPay, since you could have earned your regular rewards by just paying with the DBS Altitude Visa directly.
