The democrat controlled house sei seized on president Donald Trumps demand for larger direct payments and that pushed republicans to decide between their loyalty to the president or their concern over the bills cost. Stimulus checks are expected to begin going out later this week. The house also voted to override the president s veto of a sweeping defense spending bill.
