Police have given more details on the last half hour of the deadliest shooting in american history. We have learned more about how Stephen Paddock carried out americas worst mass shooting of modern times. Las vegas police say the gunman set up cameras in and outside his hotel room, brought more than 20 guns to the scene, may have modified rifles to increase their capacity to fire quickly, and had stored more weapons at other locations. They say Stephen Paddock fired from his hotel room for nine to 11 minutes. Theyve recovered 47 firearms from three separate locations, and theyve confirmed some of his guns had been modified with devices that made them function like automatic weapons. Theyve also released body camera video from officers arriving at the scene. But today we want to take it a step further. Let me outline what we will be doing. Number one. Anybody in the business of selling firearms must get a license and conduct background checks or be subject to criminal prosecution. It doesnt matter if its over the internet or a gun show. We are checks to cover violent criminals that try to buy some of the most dangerous firearms by hiding behind trusts and corporations and various cut outs. We are also taking steps to make the background check under the guidance of jim comey and the fbi, Deputy Director tom brandon, atf, we will hire more folks to process applications faster and bring an outdated background check system into the 21st century.
