Three technicians jointly charged with cheating man over cable-fixing work in Sungkai

IPOH: Three technicians have been jointly charged at the Sessions Court here for cheating a man into paying for cable-fixing work near Felda Besout in Sungkai.
Azhari Abdul Ghani, 43; Faizizee Azami, 31; and Mohd Noor Hakim Noor Rashid, 38; were charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which was read together with Section 34 of the same code.
All pleaded not guilty and claimed trial.
The three accused were said to have committed the offence at a parking lot on Jalan Sentral Sungkai 7, in Sungkai, on Aug 21 last year.
They were accused of having the intent to cheat one Aiman Firdaus Abdullah by deceiving him into believing that RM6,000 was to be paid for the repair works by a Tenaga Nasional Bhd-appointed contractor. ....

Perak Wanita Umno backs Zahid, urges party members to use proper channels to voice dissatisfaction

She said party members can channel their dissatisfaction towards Ahmad Zahid through party elections.
Any differences in views could also be discussed and thrashed out internally, she said in a statement on Monday (Jan 25) night.
Party members at all levels should continue to be united and not do things to weaken the party.

IPOH: Perak Umno Youth continues to pledge its full support for Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as party president.
Perak Umno Youth chairman Mohd Ariff Abdul Majid said it was Zahid s prominent leadership and consistency that had helped the party remain strong.
Ariff also slammed those who issued statements demanding Zahid s resignation, saying the focus should be on helping the people in need during the current movement control order.
“We are currently in the movement control order and battling against Covid-19. The focus should be on helping those in need instead of aggravating something that does not contribute to the benefit of the people, ” he said Monday (Jan 25) ....

TAPAH, Dec 3 A five-year-old boy drowned when he lost his balance and was swept away by currents while playing in Sungai Jerong Bikam, Sungkai, 24.6 kilometre from here, today.
Tapah district police chief Supt Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail said the victim, Muhamad Amsyar Mohd Zamri, with two siblings and a cousin, were playing in the river in heavy rain when the incident took place at 10.45am. ....
