Were barely 5 months from the election and the fight between the biden and trump campaigns for black and brown voters is poised to grow even uglier. Biden, for his part, has been making Real Investments in communities of color, coming off a multiple state tour promoting recordbreaking job creation for black workers and growing diversity of the federal courts on his watch. Not to be out done, trump held a Performative Rally not far from here, in the bronx thursday night where he brought out two indicted former gang members in a show of solidarity with black and latino voters. He then glossed over record low unemployment rates to tell those voters in the bronx, of all places, that immigrants were taking their jobs away and hes still going on about crowd size, claiming nearly 30,000 people when it was more like a fraction of that, including those that protested his presence. In a minute ill talk to bronx congressman Richie Torres about the r
january 6th said that this was an interesting choice. his two questions, though, were who would be the special counsel, right? that s the question of the hour. and then what will their mandate be, specifically when it comes to january 6th. they assume it will include any involvement or charges for their client. the former president. but what about his close associates? will that also be something the special counsel will be overseeing? is that also something the attorney general believes is too politically fraught to continue to handle? or are they just focused on the former president because he is now a candidate? knowing the mar-a-lago side of things, it sounds like the lawyers on that side have been dreading this because this suggests this investigation is not winding down, it is not winding up, that it will continue. there s a lot of outstanding questions in that investigation, including the sorting through of classified material of privilege, personal material. there are other iss
leader chuck schumer. we ve had very, very few public defenders on that circuit and largely on our federal bench. they tend to be prosecutors and partners in big law firms. we re changing all that and getting people who have different walks of life like public defenders and like people from the aclu and like people from different organizations so we have a new perspective on the bench. and she s a phenomenal person. white house deputy press secretary andrew bates wrote, joe biden has won the confirmation of more black women than any president in american history. and it s important no note that lee s nomination is not only a part to counteract hundreds of conservatives mostly white judges but also reshape the federal court systems with diverse judges with non-traditional backgrounds and non-traditional paths to the bench. that is it for today and for this weekend. i m alicia menendez. i ll see you here next weekend at 6:00 p.m. eastern for more american voices.

case is ongoing right now. you look at someone like jim steinle who lost his daughter to an immutable legal immigrant wr supposed to be here in the first place who is supposed to be deported for the sixth time. a horrible case from someone who wasn t even supposed to be here. regarding the judicial aspect of this as well, president trump has been criticized for his judicial blitz and trying to reshape the federal court systems which is positive to try to change in a more conservative bent. we also saw the confirmation of supreme court justice neil gorsuch was as a positive for conservatives as well. but to marie s point also, this is going to be heavily litigated presidency just like with president obama. we are going to continuously see his policy be put to the test in the court system. trish: they re just trying to make it difficult for this administration because it just doesn t feel to me like you re asking for the moon. if you say we have laws here and we have borders here in ou
