today from icing over as the temperatures plummet tonight. equipment operators told us refreezing will make piles of wet snow as hard as concrete. any water on untreated surfaces will turn into a dangerous glaze of ice. it s hard on the equipment. hard on people. takes a lot more time to push around the wet stuff than it does the nice fluffy stuff. it s heavier that wet stuff. school officials in frederick and montgomery counties maryland won t announce delays or closures for tomorrow until they re able to check out the refreezing situation overnight. virginia s governor called up a couple hundred national guard troops. bruce leshan spent some time with the guard. he joins live with the view from there. hey, bruce. reporter: it ended up being mostly a training and reconnaissance mission for the troops at they sure had a blast doing it. this storm was no match for a three and a half ton go anywhere humvee. these things are awesome. who wouldn t want to be out ....
