It is the eve of opening arguments in President Trumps impeachment trial in the senate and the rules coconcerning possible new witnesses have not yet been established. Meanwhile some of mr. Trumps supporters are defending him. Senator Lindsey Graham called the impeachment process yesterday a partisan railroad job. The president s highprofile defense attorney Alan Dershowitz said he plans to prove the charges against mr. Trump are not impeachable. Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer says hes prepared to force votes for witnesses and documents, even if Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell does not call for it in his proposal.
