Montgomery Parks to Expand Powerline Trail from Germantown to Bethesda
Montgomery Parks will expand the Powerline Trail to connect South Germantown Recreational Park and Cabin John Regional Park.
The park service has received $10 million in funding from the state of Maryland to make renovations to the Powerline Trail.
The path currently is six miles of natural terrain that connects South Germantown Recreational Park to Muddy Branch Stream Valley Park. Once construction begins in 2022, the trails will stretch 13 miles and be made up of both natural and paved trails. A surfaced trail will eventually run from Muddy Branch Trailhead to Cabin John Regional Park. ....
