Point that chief dunn was talking about, striking a balance between image the government under tremendous pressure, millions of people, if not hundreds of thousands, there to celebrate, have a good time. they ve got to show the situation is under control, if it is under control. where, as public officials do you draw the line between public safety and need to show that the government is still very much in control of situations no matter how catastrophic they may appear to be? that s right. i think if our public officials, law enforcement, firefighters, military, intelligence officials make calls about safety during emergencies and go with safety, i don t think that s living in fear. fear can be a gift to you that can keep you alive and alert. it s a human emotion. as long as you re not panicked and doing stupid things, fear can keep you alive if you can control it. ....
