Thomas James Walczynski, 69, of Duluth, died peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2024 in his home surrounded by his wife and three children following a seven month battle with cancer. Tom was born in Duluth on June 8, 1954 to Joseph and Mary Lou (Schminski) Walczynski. Tom attended St. Peter and Paul, Lincoln Jr and graduated from Denfeld High School in 1972. He was most proud of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in 1972. Tom attended UMD while working at the DM & I R Railroad until 1977 when he purchased his first semi-truck and went on the road. Tom also drove truck for his parent’s company, Twin Ports Dispatch. Later, he became co-owner and operator of Walco Transport until 1999 when the company was sold. Tom became an independent truck driver following Walco, and retired from Indiana Transport in 2020. Tom was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, boating and the love of his life was to share the outdoor recreational activities with his family. ....
