Covid-19 vaccination for elderly to be boosted in NegOcc

BACOLOD CITY - The Negros Occidental provincial government aims to inoculate more elderly population against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) to increase its coverage rate in the 60 and above age group. Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Tuesday representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) who visited the province last week pushed the need to prioritize vaccination among the seniors. "There is still a large number of senior citizens that have not been vaccinated. That is our target," he added. The team from WHO discussed the technical support for the province in accelerating the Covid-19 vaccination for Priority Group A2 or the senior citizens during a meeting with Lacson, who was joined by provincial health officer Dr. Ernell Tumimbang and assistant provincial health officer Dr. Jessica Fama.
