The anal swab method reportedly involves the insertion of a saline-soaked cotton swab about 3 to 5 centimeters (about 1 to 2 inches) into the anus, with the sample then tested for active traces of the virus.

A Portland man was arrested on Monday after a vehicle he was driving struck at least six people, including one who eventually died from their injuries.
The Portland Police Bureau said in an online statement that they began receiving reports of a hit-and-run incident on Monday afternoon.
