Clackamas County explores affordable housing in Lake Oswego Metro, city agree to process for development of parcel along Boones Ferry Road The Housing Authority of Clackamas County has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Metro and the city of Lake Oswego to explore the acquisition of a piece of land for the purpose of developing affordable housing. The Clackamas Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, Feb. 9 heard a brief update on the effort to bring an affordable housing development to a parcel located at the intersection of Boones Ferry Road and West Sunset Drive in the city s Lake Grove neighborhood. The land, which amounts to a little less than an acre in size, is currently being vetted by the HACC, Metro and Lake Oswego.

The suspect in a Sacramento murder case has been extradited back to California after she was arrested by local deputies in Clackamas, police say. Inez Kakar Savala, 20, is accused of committing the homicide of her now-deceased boyfriend, Jeremiah Zabala, 23, who was shot in a park just after midnight on Nov. 1 and later died in a hospital, per media accounts. The Clackamas County Sheriff s Office says Kakar Savala was known to have fled to Oregon, spurring the Clackamas County Inter-Agency Task Force to surveil several suspect locations and to conduct interviews. A few days later, she was taken into custody without incident on Nov. 22, per a news release dated Feb. 5.

Felon arrested for randomly shooting Oregon City mill February 01 2021 OCPD: Timothy Steven Miller, 35, fires one round from a 9mm handgun at former Blue Heron paper facility On Sunday, Jan. 31, Oregon City police arrested a felon who randomly shot a bullet into the former Blue Heron Paper Co. mill from the top of the cliff along the McLoughlin Promenade. No one was injured at about 1 p.m., when officers responded to a witness report of a man shooting along the 300 block of Promenade Street. Officers identified the suspect as 35-year-old Timothy Steven Miller, who they determined had fired one round from a 9mm handgun. The weapon was recovered during the investigation.
