Federal atf investigators are on scene along with cal osha, county, and other local agencies. The plant is shut down until such time osha determines it is no longer hazardous. A quarter million gallons of flammable ethanol materials were consumed, the equivalent of 28 big greg gasoline tanker trucks. So far firefighters have used one and a half million gallons of Firefighting Foam and water mixture to suppress the mixture. The usually dry containment areas that surround the tanks to prevent toxic runoff are holding a lot of materials from the tanks as well as the water and Firefighting Foam. We believe there is no risk of fire but out of an abundance of caution we are keeping foam blankets on both of those containment pods to mitigate any risk of further ignition. The tanks that sit next to the burned ones are being vented into the atmosphere to let off pressure. The tank anti leaking valves were damaged in the fire.
