the rapid spread of the highly contagious delta variant now pushing the number of new covid cases to over 00100,000 cases a day. but the highest number of vaccinations were given today in a month. also tonight, the investigation into embattled new york governor andrew cuomo is expanding. materials have been requested from the state s attorney general to determine whether the allegations of sexual misconduct lodged by multiple women amount to potential crimes. and president joe biden heralding the heroism of police officers, signing a bill to award the gold medal to capitol police and d.c. police forces. the tragedy of that day deserves the truth above all else. we cannot allow history to be rewritten. we cannot allow the heroism of these officers to be forgotten. we have to understand what happened. the honest and unvarnished truth. we havto face it. i want to bring in now cnn white house correspondent john harwood. john, good evening, thank you so much. powerful word
