mission. our mission is quite simple. we wanted to be the preeminent center for the exploration of the american civil war from multiple perspectives. we wanted our visitors to have experiences unlike any other available. that meant from the buildings we wanted to create, to the buildings that we owned the needed repair and renovation, to the stories we wanted to tell. we have a remarkable staff that has helped bring that to fruition. for them, i am grateful. to anlso grateful extraordinary board, a board listened to us and allowed us to integrate, take calculated risks , and went out and advocated for us in ways i cannot begin to describe their incredible impact. here we are six years later. because most nonprofit mergers, including museum mergers, will fail within the first five years. this has been a team effort. that effort started with my friend and colleague, mr. rate rawls, who is the foundation president for the museum that is our fundraising arm. where are you? there
