Elizabeth Aldridge, pandemic coordinator for the Pennsbury School District, said her thoughts and concerns on safety were “broadened,” causing the district to focus on disease control in addition to other health and safety affairs.
Pennsbury’s actions could not be set in stone with a simple plan; its health and safety plan is approximately 46 pages long, and is constantly being revised as new data emerges.
The plan involves strategies for prevention, as well as for coordinating buses, cafeterias, classes, student and staff behaviors, guardians and more.
Asked if pre-COVID school safety such as intruder-prevention was compromised by the pandemic, Aldrige stated that there is no difference to previous restrictions involving school access.
