election interference trial. we ll have legal analysis on both of these big developments in just a moment. plus new polling on president joe biden s re-election bid and the major concern that most americans have about a possible second term. good morning and welcome to way too early on this tuesday, august 29th. i m jonathan lemire. thanks for starting your day with us. we ll begin this morning with a decision that sent waves through the nation s capitol yesterday, a start date for donald trump s federal election interference trial. in washington, d.c. district court judge tanya chutkan ordered jury selection to begin on march 4th of next year, just one day before super tuesday. now, prosecutors when asked for the trial to begin in early january of next year while trump s lawyers had proposed that it not start until april of 2026. yesterday judge chutkan said that neither of those dates were acceptable but that, quote, this case is not going to trial in 2026. the ....
it s back to reality from president biden. the commander in chief relating to students as he confronts the harsh reality of a vacation summer. he s facing a long road ahead for his 2024 campaign. it doesn t help that adam sandler is throwing serious shade at his record in new hampshire pointing out how americans are suffering under the presidency. the president has a right to be very proud of many of the accomplishments we have achieved in the last three years, but, the reality is that today 60% of our people living paycheck to paycheck. our healthcare system is a total disaster. 85 million people uninsured under insured, the price of pharmaceuticals sky high. and republican candidate nikki haley saying the vote for biden is a vote for kamala. we had a great discussion and he seemed fine to me. at the end of the day, what we have to ask ourselves is what do people stand for? age is an issue, chuck, but there are a lot of broader issues than just that. we cannot ha ....
you discriminate against these athletes, and we ended up getting all of the athletes that wanted to to be able to compete. and that had a huge impact on peoples lives. this summer, i am walking around the iowa state fair, and i get a big hug from a family, because we made sure their son, who had unique abilities, was able to compete in the special olympics. that is how you use your position of authority to ensure that people are able to realize their dreams. they wanted to exclude those people based on these ridiculous mandates. i stood up and said no, not on my watch, everybody gets to compete.
